Big Sister Buys

A few weeks back, you may remember I made a big sister shirt for my daughter to wear to the hospital to meet her new brother. Well I cam across a wonderful site where you can make designs to sell and add them to gear. So now you too may purchase my big sister shirt, or even customize it on the site for a wonderful digital screen print tee.
Check it out

So buy my shirt, if you think you may be cool enough to wear it, or go have fun designing your own things!

With Thanks

After my shower, I ran out of thank you cards (I know I'm blessed with so many people who love our baby). So I got out my craft supplies, surfed the web for inspiration, and came across these cute gems on a blog. Mine aren't as clean cut and beautiful as the originals, but they still turned out pretty well :)

To make your own, here is the tutorial.

Love and thanks,

Big Sisters

My little girl, is now a big sister!
In preparation for her brother's arrival, we made this shirt together:
Steps:
  1. First I designed the writing part in photoshop, my daughter telling me exactly what she wanted it to say.
  2. Then I flipped it and printed it on iron on transfer paper.
  3. After that we ironed it onto a white t-shirt.
  4. I let her go to town with fabric paints, and a little pin.
  5. Finally I sewed on a frill.
Voila, a great shirt to show off on her first visit to the hospital to meet her brother. Along with the shirt, we also read many "big sister" books and made a cast of my belly together. Any way that you can make the arrival seem fun and exciting, and bond prior to baby's arrival.

Weekend Project: Diaper Wipes Case

There is something about color-coordinated items that soothe my soul (probably has something to do with the OCD area of my brain). As I prepared for my new baby, I self-soothed with a whole collection of organizing items to match my brown and green diaper bag. I found the cutest print on sale at Joanne's Fabrics (which you may recognize from my snack-pack) and got started.
From various google searches, I found patterns for the various things I made.
Pictured here today is the Diaper wipes case I decorated. All I used was my trusty glue-gun, some foam (to soften the flat sides),some ribbon and a button.
Here is the tutorial I followed. This blog also shows a diaper case, which will be my next project.
Coming soon to a computer screen near you:  the matching wet bag and  burp cloths.
