hearts for pappap

A little craft we turned into a card for our beloved PapPaps birthday. Made from one of those pixos heart shapes and then glued onto cardstock. The rest is pretty self explanatory ;-). But we like how it turned out. Hope everyone is havinga wonderfully relaxing long weekend!

Fall card tutorial

I made these cards for a mommy craft group. The theme was Fall Thank you's.
Steps:

  1. Choose some blank cards.
  2. Cut out brown felt tree trunks.
  3. Cut out circles in various colored paper.
  4. Glue the circles behind and on top of the trunk using liquid glue.
  5. I then stamped a Thank you in Gold on cut pieces of papers (using scrapbook scissors for the paper)
  6. I darkened the letters with a black gel pen as it wasn't very visible.
  7. Bask under your forest of creativity.
 Love and thank yous,

With Thanks

After my shower, I ran out of thank you cards (I know I'm blessed with so many people who love our baby). So I got out my craft supplies, surfed the web for inspiration, and came across these cute gems on a blog. Mine aren't as clean cut and beautiful as the originals, but they still turned out pretty well :)

To make your own, here is the tutorial.

Love and thanks,

Fall Art Tutorial

I've been feeling inspired to make some fall art work for my home, and came up with a fun idea, that I also used as a craft with my daughter. Here is a tutorial on how I did it.

1. Use stencil of your choice. I used halloween cookie cutouts.

2. Trace around cutters on cardboard to make your own stencils.

4. Stencils all ready to go.

5. Prepare paints in preferred colors, I  used very watered down acrylics.
6. Place stencil on watercolor paper and using small brush strokes, paint on colors around the edges. Layering colors adds a lovely effect.

7. Completed picture.
8. Two of the pictures I did. For my daughter's picture I traced the stencil with a white crayon and let her paint over it.

Tutti Frutti Cards

I have the good fortune of being part of  a card-making club, where each month 7 of us each make seven of a type of card, with a set theme. Then we mail them out to the 7 ladies in the club. We all end up with a very diverse, creative selection of cards for different occasions. This is what I made for this month's set, a juicy, colorful, birthday treat:

I wish I could take credit for this cute idea, but I too received online inspiration from here. Go take a look and try your hand at it.
