Merry Monday: Week 3

Wow! Week 3 and while I feel a little happier, I still don't feel like a glass-half-full kind of person yet. Especially since I'm currently on bed rest due to contractions (I'm 32 weeks along) AND from last week's challenge I realize how little positivity I put out towards others. So I am much more aware of my verbal output at least, but must continue to feed this awareness.

This week's challenge: Stop reliving negative experiences of the past.

But how?
  1. Change your mind to not feel as bad about what happened, and decrease anxiety that triggers going back to the past; for example, if you feel guilty, tell yourself don't worry, everyone makes mistakes; various relaxation methods will decrease anxiety which can trigger bad memories.

  2. Live in the present. This one is kind of hard, as well, since the present is easy to take for granted. Know that by constantly using your present time wisely, you are constantly making a better past for yourself.

  3. Learn from it. Something good always comes out of anything, even if it is a very bad experience. Find the lesson involved and try not to make the same mistake twice. eg. That mistake, helped me see the path I should be on.
  4. Forgive. Yourself or the ones that have hurt you. Cut some slack to others and yourself. Nobody asks to be given a bad memory. People are not perfect. Everyone is prone to make mistakes. That's how people are. And the only way to really move on from a bad experience is to forgive the people involved.

  2. I'm so glad you liked THE BAD BEHAVIOR OF BELLE CANTRELL. It took me three years to write and research so your enjoyment means a lot to me. If you'd like I'll send you an autographed book plate to paste in your book. Sorry to hear you're on bed rest. That would make me depressed.
